CBAM Reporting Processes: Easy, Accurate and Flexible Management with CimpactPro

The Borderline Carbon Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) introduces specific reporting periods. Quarterly reporting during the transition period and possible annual or quarterly regulations afterwards require careful monitoring and management for companies. How does CimpactPro make it easier to manage these periods and what assurance does it offer against possible errors?

How to Determine CBAM Reporting Periods?

CBAM's reporting schedule is as follows:

  • Transition Period (until the end of 2025): Reporting is done in quarterly (quarterly) periods. The relevant report is expected to be prepared within the first month after the end of each quarter.
  • after 2026: Reporting is envisaged to continue on an annual or quarterly basis. While the exact format is yet to be finalized, CimpactPro has already been designed to accommodate both options.

CimpactPro's Flexibility and Copy Advantage

CimpactPro offers significant flexibility and convenience to the user, while fully complying with the CBAM calendar:

  • Flexible Infrastructure: The software has a flexible infrastructure that can easily adapt to future changes in the reporting period (e.g. 6 months).
  • Quick Start with Copy: Users do not need to start from scratch for each reporting period. A report prepared in the previous quarter can be copied with a single click, renamed for the new period and a new report can be created quickly (in about 5 minutes) by updating only the changed data. This significantly reduces the administrative burden of quarterly reporting in particular.

The Risk of Choosing the Wrong Period and the System's Approach

What happens if the user accidentally selects an incorrect report period? Does this situation create a direct cost?

CimpactPro does not impose a direct obstacle to the user in this regard; that is, it does not technically prevent creating reports with the wrong period selection. The system offers flexibility in this regard. However, this means that the responsibility lies entirely with the user. User
